Chery, MG and BYD Parts Sourcing Checklist

By ChinaRide Parts · Published

A clear sourcing record connects a vehicle, a part reference and a quotation. Use this checklist when preparing Chery, MG or BYD enquiries, especially when your list combines several models or suppliers. These are recommended purchasing checks, not statements that every listed item is available.

1. Start with the right brand and vehicle

Browse the Chery reference page, MG reference page or BYD reference page. Then record the exact model, year and engine or powertrain variant where known. Do not assume two vehicles share a component because their names are similar.

Where identification remains uncertain, include the VIN privately and request a catalogue or specialist check. Read why VIN verification matters for the distinction between vehicle identification and confirmed part fitment.

2. Give every line its own identity

  • Use a unique line number for each requested item.
  • Record the part description, OE number and where that number came from.
  • Specify front/rear, left/right or another relevant position.
  • State quantity and unit; define the contents of a set or kit.
  • Keep uncertain or alternative references in a separate note.

When combining supplier lists, do not merge rows solely on a similar name. Preserve the original references and resolve discrepancies before treating entries as duplicates.

3. Ask what is actually being offered

Ask the supplier to identify the quoted brand or manufacturer, condition, packaging and any proposed substitution. An OE reference helps describe the requested item; its presence in a listing does not by itself establish that the offered product is genuine, manufacturer-approved or interchangeable.

Request relevant product and label photos when available. If a photo is illustrative, keep that distinction visible in your purchasing record. A generic catalogue image should not be accepted as proof of the item that will ship.

4. Compare quotations on the same basis

CheckWhat to record
Part identityQuoted reference, brand, specification and any substitution
FitmentConfirmed details and unresolved questions
QuantityPieces or defined sets, plus minimum order quantity
PriceCurrency, unit basis and quotation validity
SupplyAvailability, preparation time and when lead time starts
DeliveryDestination, freight basis and included or excluded charges
After-sales termsAgreed process for an incorrect or defective item

A lower unit price is not a complete comparison if packaging, quantity or delivery terms differ. Keep your requested deadline separate from the supplier's confirmed lead time.

5. Resolve conflicts before confirming the order

Ask for written clarification when the label, OE reference or vehicle details disagree. For a changed part number, record both references and the explanation. Do not convert “needs checking” into “confirmed” just to complete the spreadsheet.

For electrical or EV-related components, ask about relevant configuration and installation requirements. This guide does not establish electrical compatibility or provide high-voltage repair instructions.

6. Send a traceable enquiry

Use our RFQ checklist and copyable template. Submit the enquiry, then email a parts list or photos to chinarideparts@163.com with the enquiry reference. The current form does not accept attachments. Match photo names to list line numbers so references stay connected.

What ChinaRide Parts listings mean

Our published references support enquiries. They do not establish inventory, a fixed MOQ, delivery time or confirmed compatibility. These details require review and quotation. Browse parts categories or submit your requirements with unknown details marked clearly.
